“Only One Earth” was the motto of the World Conference on the Human Environment at Stockholm. In direct response to this inspirational conference, Mr. Eskandar Firouz, the Director of the Department of the Environment, presented to the Consultants the challenge to conceive and Master Plan on a 300 hectare site an entirely new environmental park. The charge was to create a place where the public could gain an enhanced, understanding of the correct relationship between Man and Nature. The answer was an institution which replicated all the world bio-climatic and cultural zones set within the context of the Universe and based upon the theme of Symbiotic, Sustainable Adaptation.
